Gathering Song Come to Me, All Pilgrims Thirsty Music: The Sacred Harp; Text: Delores Dufner

Come to me, all pilgrims thirsty;

drink the water I will give.

If you knew what gift I offer,

you would come to me and live.

Chorus:

Jesus, ever flowing fountain,

give us water from your well.

In the gracious gift you offer

there is joy no tongue can tell.

Come to me, all trav'lers weary;

come that I may give you rest.

Drink the cup of life I offer;

at this table be my guest."

Come to me, believers burdened;

find refreshment in this place.

Come, receive the gift I offer,

turn to me and seek my face.

Confession

God of mercy, when sin and death hover around us, and bitterness finds us, and words of peace escape us, gather us into you. We confess that we often fall short of your call for our lives, yet you meet us with mercy. We confess that we miss the mark on caring for ourselves and the world you made, yet you restore us with compassion. The newness of life found in Christ begins with the gift of forgiveness. Pry us loose from the ways of the world, instead leading us in your holy name. Amen.

Forgiveness

Hymn of Praise by Kevin Stillson

Chorus:

Glory! Glory!

Glory to God on High!

Grant peace to us,

peace to us your people on earth.

Lord God, heavenly King,

Almighty God and Father.

We worship you, we give you thanks,

we praise you for your glory!

Jesus Christ, only Son,

Lord God, Lamb of God.

You take away the sin of the world.

Have mercy and hear our prayer.

You are the holy one.

You alone are the Lord.

You alone are the most high.

Christ, Spirit, and the Father.

Message

Song of the Day When It Seems the Day Will End by Justin Rimbo

When it seems the day will end,

and all light gives way to fear,

we will speak your name again

to remind us you are here.

Refrain:

New life rising, ashes falling,

joy and weeping, in your calling.

When it seems the day will end,

sinking low under our skin,

we are dead and born again,

and with you now enter in.

When it seems the day will end,

and a coldness fills our bones,

we will walk the way you've been,

and our hearts will be your home.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Communion Song Lamb of God by Kevin Stillson

Lamb of God, you take

away the sin of the world.

Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take

away the sin of the whole world.

Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take

away the sin of the world.

Grant us peace.

Song We Go Out With the Spirit of God by Nate Houge

We go out with the spirit of God

Guiding us in the ways we will go

Showing us how

to live what we know

leading us unto God

leading us unto God

Lord keep us safe

and protect all our ways

In our trouble

please be our strength

In our stumbling

show us your grace

That we may see your face

that we may see your face
