Sharing the Peace

Song Come to Me, All Pilgrims Thirsty Music: The Sacred Harp; Text: Delores Dufner

Come to me, all pilgrims thirsty;

drink the water I will give.

If you knew what gift I offer,

you would come to me and live.

Chorus:

Jesus, ever flowing fountain,

give us water from your well.

In the gracious gift you offer

there is joy no tongue can tell.

Come to me, all trav'lers weary;

come that I may give you rest.

Drink the cup of life I offer;

at this table be my guest."

Come to me, believers burdened;

find refreshment in this place.

Come, receive the gift I offer,

turn to me and seek my face.

Come to me, repentant sinners;

leave behind your guilt and shame.

Come and know divine compassion,

turn to me, I call your name."

Confession

Have mercy, O God, Against you, you alone, we have sinned. In your compassion, cleanse us from our sin and take away our guilt. Create in us a new heart and give us a steadfast spirit. Do not cast us away, but fill us with your Holy Spirit and restore your joy within us. Amen.

Words of Forgiveness

Song of Praise Glory in the Highest by Jonathan Rundman

Chorus:

Glory in the highest

Glory be to God

Glory in the highest

and peace to all the earth

Shaper of the universe

Thanks and praise we sing

Loving father, caring mother

Hold us in your wings

Jesus Christ the Lamb of God

You wash our sins away

At your table all are welcome

Hear us as we pray

Holy Spirit source of life

Burning wild and free

You are God the three in one

Such a mystery

Message

Song The King of Love My Shepherd Is by Henry Williams Baker

The King of love my shepherd is,

whose goodness faileth never;

I nothing lack if I am his,

And he is mine forever.

Where streams of living water flow,

My ransomed soul he leadeth,

And where the verdant pastures grow,

With food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed,

But yet in love he sought me,

And on his shoulder gently laid,

And home, rejoicing, brought me.

In death’s dark vale I fear no ill

With thee, dear Lord, beside me;

Thy rod and staff my comfort still,

Thy cross before to guide me.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Holy Communion

Song Go, My Children, with My Blessing Music: Welsh traditional; Text: Jaroslav J. Vajda

Go, my children,

with my blessing,

never alone.

Waking, sleeping,

I am with you,

you are my own.

In my love’s

baptismal river

I have made you

mine forever.

Go, my children,

with my blessing,

you are my own.”

“Go, my children,

sins forgiven,

at peace and pure.

Here you learned

how much I love you,

what I can cure.

Here you heard

my dear Son’s story,

here you touched him,

saw his glory.

Go, my children,

sins forgiven,

at peace and pure.”

“Go, my children,

fed and nourished,

closer to me.

Grow in love

 and love by serving,

joyful and free.

Here my Spirit’s

power filled you,

here my tender

comfort stilled you.

Go, my children,

fed and nourished,

joyful and free.”
