Sharing the Peace

Gathering Song Where There Is Love by Ryan Marsh

Chorus:

Come on. Come in.

We're all gathering.

Come on. Come in.

We're all gathering.

Think on God’s grace, not on your sin.

We're all gathering.

Here you are loved and forgiven.

We're all gathering.

‘Cause there’s friends here new and old

And there’s stories to be told

And there’s bread

and there’s wine to be shared

for where there’s love

God is truly there

‘Cause there's songs here to be sung

and there’s welcome for everyone

And there’s bread and

there’s wine to be shared

For where there’s love

God is truly there

Confession

Have mercy, O God, Against you, you alone, we have sinned. In your compassion, cleanse us from our sin and take away our guilt. Create in us a new heart and give us a steadfast spirit. Do not cast us away, but will us with your Holy Spirit and restore your joy within us. Amen.

Word of Forgiveness

Song of Praise Praise The One Who Breaks The Darkness Music: J. Wyeth Repository of Sacred Music, Part II; Text: Rusty Edwards

Praise the One who breaks the darkness

with a liberating light;

praise the One who frees the pris'ners,

turning blindness into sight.

Praise the One who preached the gospel,

healing ev'ry dread disease,

calming storms and feeding thousands

with the very bread of peace.

Praise the One who blessed the children

with a strong yet gentle word;

praise the One who drove out demons

with a piercing, two-edged sword.

Praise the One who brings cool water

to the desert's burning sand;

from this well comes living water

quenching thirst in ev'ry land.

Praise the one true love incarnate:

Christ, who suffered in our place;

Jesus died and rose for many

that we may know God by grace.

Let us sing for joy and gladness,

seeing what our God has done.

Praise the one redeeming glory;

praise the One who makes us one.

Message

Song of the Day Forgive Our Sins As We Forgive Music: The Sacred Harp; Text: Rosamond E. Herklots

"Forgive our sins as we forgive,"

 you taught us, Lord, to pray;

 but you alone can grant us grace

 to live the words we say.

How can your pardon reach and bless

the unforgiving heart

that broods on wrongs and will not let

old bitterness depart?

In blazing light your cross reveals

the truth we dimly knew:

how trifling others' debts to us;

how great our debt to you!

Lord, cleanse the depths within our souls

and bid resentment cease;

then, by your mercy reconciled,

our lives will spread your peace.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Announcements - What's Happening

Song My Life Flows On in Endless Song by Robert Lowry

My life flows on in endless song;

above earth's lamentation,

I catch the sweet, though far-off hymn

that hails a new creation.

Chorus:

No storm can shake my inmost calm

while to that Rock I'm clinging.

Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth,

how can I keep from singing?

Through all the tumult and the strife,

I hear that music ringing.

It finds an echo in my soul.

How can I keep from singing?

The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart,

a fountain ever springing!

All things are mine since I am his!

How can I keep from singing?
